GALLERY OF WORKS
Under the Gallery you will find New Works which are currently being shown and created.
MFA Exhibition 2007 is a gallery view of the works created and exhibited in the requirements towards my Thesis of Masters Degree.
Past Works includes some of the works I created during Undergrad school and some of the earlier works of Graduate School at UTTyler.
These works vary in a range from two-dimensional to three-dimensional and were created using various medium and materials.
I consider these pieces in the New Works and MFA Exhibition 2007 to be conceptual art.
I began with the theme of the "Tunic" which represented the qualities demonstrating the strength and vulnerability of women: their work, their love, and their wounds.
Developing from the "Tunic" came the theme of the "Bed." The "Bed" pieces became a symbol for strengths in the union of the family. Different parts of the "Bed" such as the structure of the bed and the coverings of the bed have become additions to this symbol.
Coming from the "Bed" in a natural progression of thought is the series of the "Remnant." The "Remnant" brings to mind the birth to death struggle for ligitmacy, and the threads which run throughout the entirety.
To create these works, cloth and fiber have become the natural selection of medium. To communicate in an internal structure as well as to the viewer, the use of produced images and videos and audio are the prefered path.
